How do I get my cat to stop peeing on the carpet
My cat loves to pee on bath mats and carpets.I've tried everything to get
him to stop and he won't.Any suggestions?
If the cat is not peeing in her box then it could possibly be a
urinary track infection. take her to the vet to make sure everything is
okay. in the meantime make sure her litter box is always clean. sometimes
cats are picky and try placing her in her box 2-3 times a day so she gets
the idea that shes supposed to go there.
First of all, your cat should be checked out at the vets for a
urinary infection. This is the most common cause of inappropriate
urination. A course of antibiotics and sometimes a change in food could
solve your problem. If your vet rules out an infection, try a product
called Cat Attract. It can be bought as an additive for your litter, or
as a litter. It often helps. Good luck!

If ur cat is not fixed, now is the time to do it as it is
pretty common for non-fixed animals to mark their territory.
Bath mats, given that they're moist quite often, may harbor some bacteria
that may smell like pee (or ammonia) when present in the mat. You might
consider laundering the bath mat often or keep it hung up so that ur cat
doesn't have access to it. There is also a spray that you can use that will completely remove the odor of the pee from previous accidents or sprayings. If you eliminate that odor, often times the spraying will stop in that area. I don't remember what it is called, but I think it is called Nature is Miracle.
First off if you have a male cat that is not neutered he will
continue to spray until you get him fixed. If he is fixed then try
changing the litter in the litter box. I have had cats that are neat
freaks and they except their litter boxes to the the same all the time.
Another explanation I have found is if your cat happens to have a flea
infestation, which is not uncommon, he could develop an allergy which
could make him lose control of him bladder.
Make sure the litter box is clean and nowhere near the food or
water bowls. Cats are picky, and they will urinate elsewhere in protest.
